Coenbio Co., Ltd. obtains the world’s first patent on the removal of radioactive contaminants using native microorganisms 

Coenbio Co., Ltd. (CEO Kyu-Jin Yeom) recently acquired the world’s first patent for an original technology of revolutionarily reducing the half-life of radioactive contaminants (Cs137) using native microorganisms from the Korean Intellectual Property Office.  

This patent relates to an original technology that can shorten the time period for processing radioactive materials by reducing gamma rays produced by radioactive materials using native microorganisms present in Korean traditional fermented foods and the natural world, and if the patent becomes commercialized, it is expected to become a revolutionary turning point in the fundamental resolution of the problems of regions and water contaminated by radioactivity, which has been an unresolved task of humanity for a long time.
